Sidr Update

Cyclone Sidr unfortunately has not decreased in strength and continues to be exceedingly nasty. It's tracking pretty much straight north and is going to hit the Indian state of West Bengal and Bangladesh.

This is going to be bad. It probably would have done less damage if it had hit peninsular India instead. I hate to speculate, but probably thousands will die. Let's pray it doesn't go down that bad.

CNN.com finally a story up on its international site, but so far there's been little coverage in the Western media. A Google News search, sorted by date, for "Sidr," the storm's name, yields about 46 hits (granted, all stories are not using the name).

On the other hand, a restricted search for "Kanye West" and "mother" yields about 1,593 hits.
